Christopher Moore - Stupidest Angel

I got this email from Christopher Moore today about his book winning
an award. As follows:
=======================
Well, you guys did it. You voted and Stupidest Angel won the Sci-Fi/
Fantasy/Horror novel of the year.

I didn’t get to go to the awards, I think because no one thought I
would win, so my publisher accepted my award, so this is my thank you
speech. (You can skip this if you’re at work or have a life or
something.)

Thanks to my readers, you magnificent bastards! You are the
brightest, kindest, funniest people in the world, and I say that only
because it’s kind of true. Thanks to the booksellers and librarians,
who nominated Stupidest Angel, and have been recommending my books
for years, even when it was not the safest thing to do (Lamb). Who
says you can’t practice courage in your daily life, even when
everyone you know is trying to manipulate you with fear. Thanks to
the reviewers who were fair and got the fact that I was just trying
to have some fun, and everyone could read was invited.

(About now the music would start playing.)

(I’ll be talking really fast.) Thanks to my agent, Nick Ellison, my
editor, Jennifer Brehl, my publisher, the insane Lisa Gallagher,
(here some six-foot babe in sequins is trying to drag me off the
stage.) Thanks to Michael Morrison, Jane Freedman – let go of me, you
harpy! – to my wife-like girlfriend Charlee, the people of Cambria,
California, my cats—

They pull out to go to commercial, just as I’m thanking my second-
grade teacher – the sleeve has ripped off my tuxedo. The award babe
is beating me about the head and shoulders with the award, which is a
two foot tall Lucite obelisk with the effigy of Jacqueline Susanne
laser-etched into it. Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson have come up on
stage to help drag me off. Dave tries to pull off my hair piece, but
I’m not wearing a hair piece. He comes away with his hand black from
my Grecian formula, which is now running in dusky streams down onto
my shirt.

Thank you, and good night! (The real show may or may not be on your
NBC station on Oct. 22nd.)

By the way, the Stupidest Angel 2.0 will hit the stores in a few
weeks. It’s the same swell book, only with a 32 page bonus chapter
and a spiffy red cover. I’m recommending that people who read it last
year buy a copy as a present, read the bonus chapter, then give it to
someone who needs it. It will be like buying someone a box of
chocolates, but eating your faves out of the box first. Haven’t you
always wanted to do that? I thought so.=

Adobe CS2

Well, after beta testing the new PSCS2 and InDesign CS2 last year, I
have finally got a chance to use the real products. Probably just in
time for the CS3 announcement! Anyway, I really like CS2. So far it
has been great. I'm hoping CS3 is a longer time in coming out
because Adobe will have to port the apps to the intel chip for the
Mac. But who knows.
